Syracuse Basketball adds Slovakian star
Jim Boeheim has gone overseas to land his newest basketball player.
Dolezaj is a 6'9" wing that really fits in with what Boeheim wants as his prototypical defenders.
In an interview with Scout.com Dolezaj says it was a visit from Adrian Autry in his home country of Slovakia that truly sealed the deal.
"I chose Syracuse because I felt the most comfortable with their style of play and how they develop wings," Dolezaj said. "Coach [Adrian] Autry came to see me in Slovakia and that meant a lot to me." Dolezaj told Evan Daniels of Scout.
Dolezaj took a visit to the Orange a couple weeks ago, the only college he visited in the United States, despite another offer from Vanderbilt of the SEC.
He will arrive as a freshman, and from limited film, he does appear to have quite the high ceiling.
Dolezaj's signing leaves Syracuse still with one open spot for the 2017-2018 class, which could go to South Florida transfer Geno Thorpe, who according to CBS' Jon Rothstein is deciding between Syracuse and Pittsburgh.
