      Syracuse basketball tied for 8th in preseason AP poll

      The Syracuse Orange are tied for eighth in the Associated Press preseason college basketball poll, announced Thursday afternoon.

      The Orange received 1,093 points in a survey of writers, tying them with the Oklahoma State Cowboys. They finished last season ranked 16th before making it to the finals of the Big East Tournament and the NCAA Final Four in Atlanta. Fellow ACC members Duke (4th), North Carolina (12th), and Notre Dame (21st) are also among the top 25.

      SU was ranked 7th in the USA Today coaches poll released two weeks ago.
