Syracuse Basketball will host Maryland for 2017 ACC-Big Ten Challenge
Syracuse and Maryland will meet in the 19th annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge this winter at the Carrier Dome.
The Terrapins boasted a 24-9 overall record this past season, and fell to Xavier in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Coach Mark Turgeon has led Maryland to a 138-67 record in six seasons in charge of the Terps, including four 24-win seasons and three straight NCAA Tournament appearances.
The two teams were both members of the ACC for one season back in 2013-14, a year before the Terrapins moved to the Big Ten. The two last played in Feb. 2014 when the then fourth-ranked Orange won on the road in College Park, 57-55, their sole ACC conference matchup with the Terps.
Syracuse was 19-15 this past season, and reached the second round of the NIT before losing at home to Ole Miss. Coach Jim Boeheim will enter his 42nd season as Syracuse head coach.
The game is slated to take place in November, however, the exact date and time of the game have yet to be released.
