Syracuse Orange offense outlasts the defense 34-27 in annual Spring Game

Seldom is there this much interest surrounding Syracuse Football in April, four and a half months before the season starts.

But this week sparked monumental interest in the program with the announcement of new uniforms, a game in the Carrier Dome against LSU, a buy-one-get-one deal with tickets, and of course it culminated with today's Spring Game.

Now the Orange couldn't put on an actual game, per se, due to so many injuries on the offensive line but that doesn't mean the scrimmage game we witnessed wasn't exciting.

The Offense scored 34 points while the defense "scored" 27 in a game that had fans entertained from start to finish.

While the team obviously kept the fall playbook close to the vest we saw several big plays including a 54 yard touchdown on a bubble screen from Ashton Broyld.

Brisly Estime also hauled in a 64 yard pass from redshirt freshman quarterback Austin Wilson before he was stopped at the 2 yard line.

Starting quarterback Terrel Hunt finished 12-15 passing for 95 yards while Wilson, A.J. Long and Mitch Kimble made some solid plays in their efforts to back up Hunt.

The Orange will report for fall training camp in early August, before the season opener on Friday August 29th against Villanova.
