Syracuse Universityâ??s Football program has already earned several new commitments this off-season as it looks be spectacular in the competitive ACC.
Syracuse anxiously awaits word from 4-star wide receiver K.J. Williams, the talented prospect is looking to make his decision this weekend with Syracuse reportedly towards the top of his short list.
For the time being, here are the recruits who have committed to SU:
Nasean Howard is one of SUâ??s recruits who committed to the football program as early as March. The Central New York native (West Genesee) is excited for the chance to stay close to home and hopes his versatility as a running back and defensive back can help the Orange immensely in 2014.
AJ Long is a quarterback on the field just as much as he is off it, He is beyond excited about joining the squad, recruiting several other prospects to join the Class of 2014. He believes that the new staff and players will put â??Cuse Nation back on the map for football.
La Salle, PA linebacker Zaire Franklin took two visits to Syracuse before committing to the football program in June. Heâ??s excited for the competition everyday for a spot on the squad whether you are first, second, or third string. No doubt, Long was recruiting this young man as well.
Colton Moskal is an outside linebacker from Illinois who joined the Class of 2014 in June after turning down offers from schools like Michigan, Purdue, and Northwestern. He loves everything about SU: the academics, the schoolâ??s atmosphere, the stadium, and the coaches and players who get along well with each other.
New Jersey native Rodney Williams turned down an offer from Rutgers to join SU. Heâ??ll be playing in the cornerback position. He has prototypical size for a defensive back and has a great chance to develop into a game changer. In a lot of ways, his game is tailor-made for Scott Shaferâ??s attacking defense.
Outside linebacker Parris Bennett committed to SUâ??s football program towards the end of June after talking things over with his family. The Michigan native will be a good fit for the SU football team because of his versatility. He continues a trend of Syracuse snagging recruits from that state, joining guys like Eric Crume and Ron Thompson.
Hunterdon Central linebacker Jason Cabinda comes as SUâ??s latest recruit so far after being urged to join the squad by Zaire Franklin. Orange fans should expect a guy who can make big hits as well as provide cover for guys on the outside. Cabinda is a recruit with tremendous upside checking in at 6â??2â?? 230 lbs.â?¦and heâ??s not even a senior in high school yetâ?¦
