Syracuse, South Florida to renew acquaintances starting in 2015

Terrel Hunt and the Orangewill travel to Tampa to battle South Florida during Hunt's senior season of 2015.

Syracuse University and the University of South Florida will renew their acquaintances on the football field starting in 2015.

SU announces Tuesday that the Orange will travel to Tampa to take on the Bulls at Raymond James Stadium on October 10, 2015. South Florida will make the trek to the Carrier Dome on September 17, 2016.

Of course, the Orange and Bulls have only played eight times, all of those matchups coming during the SU and USF's tenure as Big East teams from 2005-2012.

South Florida leads the all-time series 6-2, but Syracuse won two out of the last three matchups in 2010 and 2012.

â??This series gives our program important exposure in Florida, and renews a budding rivalry we had before joining the ACC. This gives many of our student-athletes a chance to play in front of their friends and family, and solidifies our upcoming schedule with quality opponents across the board,â?? said Syracuse Director of Athletics Daryl Gross through a statement released by the University.

The announcement completes Syracuse's 2015 out-of-conference schedule a year in advance.

Syracuse will play Rhode Island at the Carrier Dome on September 5th, 2015. That game is followed by Central Michigan's trip to Syracuse and of course, the big matchup with LSU Tigers at the Dome on the 19th and 26th of September, respectively.

South Florida will be the only road out of conference game for SU in 2015, and that assures a 7-game Carrier Dome schedule.
