Jim Boeheim feels the way many Orange fans do about Syracuse's inevitable move to the ACC.
We caught up with Boeheim at the 6th annual Jim Boeheim Golf Classic Presented by Metro Mattress at Turning Stone's Atunyote Course. The event, as usual, was a smashing success and raised money for youth in need in Central New York.
As you can imagine, on a beautiful day on a beautiful golf course, Coach Boeheim was in great spirits.
Not just because of the golf though, as with a smile, he talked about Syracuse's move to the ACC.
"It's definitely different...I'm excited about it. No question. When you're as old as I am it takes a lot to get me excited (laughs) and I'm excited. It's going to be a tremendous challenge" Boeheim said.
The Hall of Fame coach went on to talk about just how well the ACC is treating Syracuse. To that point, Boeheim points to the basketball home-and-home series the Orange will enjoy with North Carolina and Duke.
While it's an exciting time, there's no doubt it will be an incredible challenge to play those ACC powers in addition to already scheduled games with Indiana, Villanova and the talented schools in the Maui Invitational.
