With spring football well underway, one starting job that is pretty much locked up for the Orange is quarterback.
Even if Head Coach Scott Shafer won't "annoint" a starter.
Terrel Hunt started 10 games last season, averaging 137 yards per game and throwing 10 touchdowns. Hunt is growing into the role of team leader this spring.
" W e have a young quarterback group" Hunt said.
" I t's good to have them in the room, and be that older guy and help them out sometimes."
As far as goals for the spring, Hunt wants to work on his mechanics and have fun.
" J ust go out there, play my heart out, and be able to lead the team."
So far Coach Shafer is happy with the progress, but he expects to see more from the Orange.
" A s a team we've got a long way to go to where we want to be," Shafer said. "but I'm excited about the bunch."
The annual Spring Football game is set for April 19th at the Carrier Dome, kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. With the Carrier Dome gates opening at 10:30 a.m.
