Terrel Hunt to start at quarterback for Syracuse

The Syracuse Orange quarterback competition has taken a new twist.

Scott Shafer says that Terrel Hunt will start for the Orange against Tulane.

Shafer, in a video interview with Matt Park at said that Hunt will be the first quarterback on the field for the Orange.

That said, Drew Allen is expected to still get his shot against the Green Wave as well.

Hunt came into Saturday's game with Wagner and prompty led Syracuse on 7 straight scoring drives en route to a 54-0 victory.

Hunt was 15-18 passing for 265 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Shafer though, after the game, was quick to point out that while he's ecstatic about how well Hunt played, it was against an FCS foe. Not two Big Ten teams like Allen lined up against.

Saturday's kickoff with the Green Wave of Tulane is set for 12:30 in the Carrier Dome.
