Alex Tuch is fulfilling a lifelong dream.

The Baldwinsville native and incredibly gifted hockey player was selected by the Minnesota Wild in the first round with the 18th overall pick in the NHL Entry Draft on Friday.

Tuch, who stands 6'3" and weighs in at 215 lbs is sure to provide instant help to the Wild as a big and skilled forward.

Alex says his inspiration growing up was Tim Connolly, his neighbor, and former NHL star with the Buffalo Sabres.

Tuch will head to camp at a time to be determined later this summer where he will be assigned a team in the Wild's farm system.
