The Syracuse Chiefs fell to the Buffalo Bisons 27-9 today at NBT Bank Stadium.
Syracuse has been at home the past two days, but unable to get a win against the Buffalo Bisons. The team lost both games in its double header yesterday, and was demolished in their afternoon game today. The Chiefs, who are now 6-7 in the season had a tough seventh inning, letting the Bisons score 10 of their 27 runs.
Buffalo took the lead in the first, scoring five runs against Chiefs starter Tanner Roark. Chris Marrero got the Chiefs on the board into the second inning and Micah Owings would add to that score, getting an RBI triple.
In the fifth, Syracuse was down 10-5 but was able to shrink Buffaloâ??s lead when both Marrero and Owings both had single RBIs, making the score 10-7.
But the seventh inning was a tough one for the Chiefs allowing 13 batters and eight hits to give them a 23-9 lead. The team ended up losing 27-9. Syracuse is on the road again Friday for its four-game series against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders at 7:05.
