C-NS grad Breanna Stewart leads UCONN to National Championship game with career-high 29 points
A little more than a year ago, Breanna Stewart led the C-NS North Stars basketball team to a Class AA State Championship. On Sunday night, as just a freshman, Stewart led the UConn Huskies to the National Championship game with a career-high 29 points.
Stewart went 10-16 from the field, making four threes and went 5-5 at the free throw line. She also had five rebounds and four blocks to go with her 29 points.
UConn built a 10-point halftime lead and Notre Dame could only get within six in the second half, ending the Irish's school record 30-game winning streak.
The Huskies will play the Louisville Cardinals in the National Championship on Tuesday night.
