Wed, 05 Oct 2011 17:28:04 GMT —
The 40th annual Super DIRT Week opened up on Wednesday morning as campers found their spot at both the New York State Fairground and Rolling Wheels in Elbridge. The event, which runs this year from Oct. 5-9, showcases the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic's greatest short-track racers. The feature for drivers and fans alike is the competition on Syracuse's "Moody Mile" at the New York State Fairgrounds, one of the few mile long tracks remaining in North America. With 80,000 racing fans expected to attend, Super Dirt Week is the second largest annual motor sports event in New York Only NASCAR weekend at Watkins Glen draws more racing fans.
Fans are excited for the new feature of night racing on Friday evening. On Saturday it's the Nationwide Insurance 150 for DIRTcar 358-Modifieds, followed by the $50,000-to-win SEF Small Engine Fuel 200 Presented by Ferris & Snapper Mowers on Sunday.
The following is an article from World Racing Group.
