Chiefs win pitchers duel over Rochester 1-0

The Syracuse Chiefs scored a run in the first inning that ended up being the game-winner, as they defeated the Rochester Red Wings 1-0 at NBT Bank Stadium on Saturday night.

Will Rhymes singles and Danny Espinosa doubled on the first two pitches from Red Wings starter Pedro Hernandez, setting up a Chris Rahl sacrifice fly. Chiefs starter Tanner Roark pitched six innings, giving up zero runs and struck out three Red Wings.

The Chiefs improve to 32-49 on the season, and will play Game 2 of the four-game series on Sunday at 5:00 at NBT Bank stadium.
