Syracuse Crunch defenseman Joey Mormina is quickly becoming a fan favorite, he's even teaming up with another player the fans adore Eric Neilson for a "Movember" moustache competition.
But Joey hasn't always drawn cheers from the War Memorial fans.
Actually, it was quite the opposite last year.
Mormina played for the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins, the very team Syracuse ousted from the Eastern Conference Finals in the 2013 Calder Cup Playoffs.
The 31-year old Montreal native signed with the Crunch during the offseason and obviously it's a different story as far as fan support is concerned.
One thing that hasn't changed though is Mormina's thoughts on the War Memorial crowd. He says that it was always very difficult to play in the War Memorial, now, he's just glad he can use it to his team's advantage.
