Thu, 12 Dec 2013 04:11:25 GMT — Looking to end a three-game losing skid, the Crunch slid closer to the .500 mark tonight in a 5-1 thumping care of the St. John's IceCaps. Cedrick Desjardins allowed all five of tonight's goals, including a pair within 23 seconds of one another at the start of the second period. Down 4-0, the Crunch finally broke through when Philip-Michael Devos scored his first of the season. Despite the lopsided affair, the Crunch successfully killed off all four of St. John's power play opportunities tonight, maintaining the league's best road penalty kill. The loss at Mile One Centre in Newfoundland, their second in as many nights, drops the Crunch's record to 11-10-1-2. The team will travel home tomorrow to prepare for the Rochester Americans (11-10-2-2), who visit the War Memorial on Saturday.
