Former SU hoops stars shine in NBA Summer League

Some might've been discouraged by not being selected in the NBA Draft, and understandably so.

If Brandon Triche was, it's certainly not showing.

The former SU star and Jamesville-Dewitt graduate has found a summer home with the Charlotte Bobcats and he's making the most of it.

Triche scored 8 points as the first player off the bench for Charlotte in an 86-80 win over the Dallas Mavericks.

Triche hit a three, a jumper and made a nifty move in the lane for his three field goals.

Brandon, of course, is hoping to impress enough to earn a spot with the team or impress other teams enough to garner their interest.

After Triche's contest with the Mavs, two Orange alums squared off.

Donte Greene is hoping to keep his place with the Memphis Grizzlies who signed him during their run to the 2013 Western Conference Finals.

He scored five points but his performance was eclipsed by former Big East 6th Man of the Year Dion Waiters who scored 23 points as the Cavaliers won by 11.

The outburst was a welcome sight for Dion, who was just 1-11 from the field on Saturday.
