SU women's lacrosse beat Stony Brook in the NCAA Tournament on Sunday

The SU women's lacrosse team (19-2) started fast and beat Stony Brook (17-4) 13-6 on Sunday in their opening game of the NCAA Tournament.

Taking place at the SU Soccer Stadium, the Orange's Alyssa Murray scored four goals in the first ten minutes of the game to give SU an early 4-0 lead. After an Amber Kupres goal for Stony Brook, SU went on a five-goal run and led 10-2 at the half.

Stony Brook fought in the second half, but the lead was too much, as the Orange went on to win 13-6.

SU now plays Boston College in the Carrier Dome in the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals next weekend.
