How did former SU stars Greene and Onuaku fare in the NBA Summer League?
The dream is still alive.
Donte Greene played in China last year, he last sported an NBA uniform in 2012.
Still, the leading scorer from SU's 2007-2008 squad is hoping to land a spot in the NBA this season.
Remember, Greene is still just 26 years old.
Donte has latched on with Brooklyn's summer league team, where he inevitably draws comparisons to another 6'11" big man with a smooth shot- Syracuse native Andray Blatche.
Greene started Brooklyn's game against Oklahoma City on Monday night but scored just six points in 17 minutes of action on a 98-84 loss to the Thunder.
Donte and the Nets are back in action Wednesday against Philadelphia, where Greene will match up with another former SU star in Jerami Grant.
Arinze Onuaku, who finished his Orange career in 2010 had a solid outing off the bench for the Indiana Pacers.
"A.O." scored just three points, but the 6'9" 275 pound center snagged 8 rebounds in a 96-77 win over Boston's summer league team.
Onuaku has been in the "D" League on the cusp of breaking through for a couple years now and Indiana provides that chance.
These games are all part of the Orlando Summer League, the much larger Las Vegas league gets going on Friday.
The action Friday kicks off with an Orange friendly game as C.J. Fair and Dallas take on Brandon Triche and the New York Knicks.
