Golfer Tiger Woods removed his name from Ryder Cup consideration on Wednesday, saying he's been told by doctors to rest his injured back muscles.
On his website, www.tigerwoods.com, Tiger says his doctors advised him not to play or practice at this point. He says his most recent back injury was not related to his surgery that kept him out of the NB3 Challenge in 2013.
Originally scheduled to play in the Notah Begay III Foundation Challenge at Turning Stone's Atunyote Golf Course on August 27th, Tiger says he won't return to 'competition' until his World Challenge tournament in Florida the first week of December.
After this most recent injury, Woods has not made an announcement specifically geared toward the Turning Stone event.
