After declaring for the NBA Draft following his sophomore season, Jerami Grant was taken 39th overall by the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday night.
Grant joins his former Orange teammate Michael Carter-Williams with the 76ers.
Grant averaged 12.1 points and 6.8 rebounds in his sophomore season, sitting out 12 games with an injury over the course of the season.
Going to the NBA is part of a family legacy for Grant, as his father Harvey played for Washington, while his uncle Horace played for the Chicago Bulls, Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers among other NBA teams, winning four titles in the process.
Prior to the draft, Grant had been projected as a mid-to-late first round pick.
