Le Moyne College's Patrick Wiese was named the 2014 NE-10 Man of the Year on Tuesday.
Wiese, who battled through bone cancer during his senior season on Le Moyne's baseball team, was forced to sit out the year. But, as Le Moyne's captain, he still served as an inspiration to his team and the community locally, nationally and even worldwide.
Wiese also founded the Patrick Wiese Foundation during his senior year, which is helping support research of Osteosarcoma as well as cancer patients and their families. So far, the Foundations has raised more than $25,000 in its first six months.
Last week, Wiese was nominated for a national baseball Fan's Choice Award as well.
