Le Moyne's Vicki Graveline nominated for D-II Honda Athlete of the Year
Syracuse native Vicki Graveline is one of the 11 women nominated for the DII Honda Athlete of the Year.
Graduating from Le Moyne this past May, Graveline was a triple threat, recording 46 goals, 66 points, and 65 ground balls her senior year. In addition to being one of the top scoring midfielders for the Dolphins, she also holds the program record with 45 forced turnovers and was second for the Dolphins this season in assists recording 20 throughout the year.
Throughout Graveline’s career at Le Moyne, the Dolphins record was 67-14 which has been recorded as the most wins and the best winning percentage with a .827 by a Northeast 10 Conference DII throughout all of the conferences history.
In an interview earlier in the season, Graveline said that her “journey these past four years was not an easy one, but playing lacrosse for Le Moyne was one of the greatest privileges she’d ever experienced”.
Head coach Kathy Taylor said that Graveline is “fiercely competitive, hardworking leader, and displays these qualities on and off the field regularly”. All in all, Vicki Graveline’s senior season as a Le Moyne Dolphin is one to be noted in the record books.
