Those fortunate enough to see Tiger Woods in person at Atunyote on Monday would probably say it was the experience of a lifetime. Then again, they probably didn't hear about 11-year-old Matt Monaco's encounter with the world's best golfer on Sunday.
Matt and his father Dave were staying at The Lodge in preparation of the Notah Begay III Foundation Skins Challenge early the next morning. The father and son were in the lobby when suddenly, Mike Weir, Camilo Villegas, Begay, and the #1 golfer on planet Earth walked through on their way to dinner.
There was only a handful of people in the lobby, and when Monaco asked Tiger to sign his "TW" hat, Woods replied with a smile saying "sure". Matt was also able to get pictures taken with Tiger and the other golfers. He has two with Tiger, one with Weir, and one with Villegas which Camilo signed after the Skins Challenge.
It's safe to say it was a priceless experience that Matthew Monaco will never forget for the rest of his life.
