Offensive explosion powers Chiefs past Mud Hens

After dropping a close decision to the Toledo Friday night, the Syracuse Chiefs (13-15) rebounded in dominant fashion Saturday afternoon, beating the Toldeo Mud Hens 14-3.
Brian Goodwin and Erik Komatsu both hit home runs for the Chiefs while Destin Hood drove in three runs with two doubles. Aaron Laffey picked up his third win, going seven innings in relief and striking out two.
The Chiefs finish their series with the Mud Hens Sunday at NBT Stadium. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. As a part of their â??Star Wars Dayâ?? promotion, the team will be wearing Star Wars themed jerseys, which will be auctioned off later throughout the season for various charities.
