SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Former Syracuse All-American Paul Carcaterra has constructed a star-studded team of SU lacrosse alums for this weekend's Orange Alumni Classic at the Carrier Dome. His team of Alumni All-Stars will take the field against the 2011-12 Orange on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 3:30 p.m.
Carcaterra's 40-man roster includes some of the greatest players in the history of college lacrosse, including four-time All-Americans Gary Gait, Mike Springer, Mike Leveille, Roy Colsey, Ric Beardsley and Pat McCabe.
Overall, the Alumni All-Stars boast a combined 71 All-America nods between them, and all but two were members of at least one NCAA title-winning team during their Syracuse careers.
This is the second year of the Orange Alumni Classic. The 2011 edition of the event features two games. An "Old Timer's Game" starts things off at 2 p.m. followed by the 2011-12 Syracuse squad versus the Alumni All-Stars.
Tickets for the doubleheader are $10 and can be purchased in person at the Carrier Dome Box Office. Parking is free. The event is a fundraiser with all proceeds going directly to the Syracuse men's lacrosse program.
