With their 11-7 win over Northwestern this afternoon the No. 3 Orange improved to 9-1 on the season and snapped an 11-game losing streak to the Wildcats.
The Orange led Northwestern 6-4 at the half but the Wildcats soon evened things at 6-all. Senior Amy Cross broke things open for the Orange at 21:37 and sparked a 4-0 Syracuse run.
Kayle Treanor and Katie Webster each contibuted a pair of goals. Webster also finished with two assists. Alyssa Murray added a goal and two assists as well.
Junior Kelsey Richardson started in net for the Orange and made three saves in the first half. Senior Alyssa Costantino got the nod in the second quarter and finished the game with two saves.
The Orange will now face Duke on Saturday, March 30 at 3 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.
