The Syracuse Orangeâ??s 2013-14 basketball season, already loaded with tough competition, just got a little tougher.
ESPN announced Wednesday that the defending Big Ten regular season champion Indiana Hoosiers will visit the Carrier Dome on December 3 as part of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. The Challenge matches up schools from the two conferences for a two-day made for television event.
This will be the fifth-ever contest between the Hoosiers and Orange, and a rematch of SUâ??s 61-50 win in the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 this past March. SU leads the series 4-1, with the only loss coming in the 1987 NCAA Tournament championship game.
In addition to hosting Indiana, the Orange will welcome Duke, North Carolina, Notre Dame, NC State, Boston College, Pittsburgh, Miami, Georgia Tech, and Clemson to the Dome. Syracuse begins play in the Atlantic Coast Conference this fall after leaving the Big East, where it was a founding member.
The Indiana-Syracuse game will air on one of the ESPN networks.
