Palat's game-winner in overtime wins first round series in Portland

Syracuse Crunch Left Wing Ondrej Palat scored with about 16 seconds to go in overtime to sweep the Portland Pirates and send the Crunch into the second round of the Calder Cup Playoffs.
It was another physical battle, which ended up being similar to Game 1, when the Crunch trailed going into the 3rd period. In Game 3, the Crunch trailed 3-1 when first Mike Angelidis scored with about six minutes to play, followed by an Ondrej Palat goal with less than two minutes remaining.
Portland goalie Chad Johnson was stellar, especially in overtime, making several saves that looked like would continue the series (he had 41 saves). But, Palat scored on a rebound with less then 20 second to play in the first overtime to win the game and the series.
The Crunch's next opponent is yet to be determined.
