Report: SU assistant coach Mike Hopkins meets with Boston College about open coaching position

Following Tyler Ennis' announcement that he's heading to the NBA last week, reports say SU assistant basketball coach Mike Hopkins spoke with Boston College about their vacant head coaching position on Saturday.

The Boston Globe reported today that Boston College met with Hopkins on Saturday as a part of their search for a new head coach. The school interviewed Mark Schmidt, the head coach of St. Bonaventure, this week as well.

Harvard coach Tommy Amaker has also been in the conversation as replacing dismissed coach Steve Donahue.

Last March, Hopkins reportedly interviewed for the USC head coaching position, which was filled by former Florida-Gulf Coast coach Andy Enfield.

Hopkins has been on Jim Boeheim's staff since 1995.
