SU women's lacrosse holds of BC, advances to Final Four

The SU women's lacrosse team advanced to the Final Four on Saturday

The Syracuse women's lacrosse team (20-2) held off Boston College (15-6) 11-9 on Saturday, punching their ticket to the Final Four for the third straight season.

The Orange fell behind early, as the Eagles put three goals on the board within the first 10 minutes of the game. But, paced by Katie Webster's hat trick, the Orange responded with a 9-2 goal run after that.

Boston College made it interesting last in the second half, as after Kayla Treanor gave SU a 10-7 lead the Eagles scored two goals to make it 10-9 with a minute to play.

But, the Orange won the draw control, which led to a fast break. Natalie Glanell and Alyssa Murray combined for a give-and-go, giving Glanell her first goal of the season, and putting the game out of reach at 11-9 with 20 seconds to play.

Bridget Dailey, in one of her first few games back from injury, scored two goals, with Treanor finishing with two goals as well.

The Orange will travel to Towson, Maryland for their Final Four matchup with Virginia, who beat UNC 10-9. That game is schedule for Friday, May 23rd.
