SU women's lacrosse wins first-ever ACC game over Virginia

The Syracuse Orange women's lacrosse team was victorious in their first ACC game in school history on Sunday, beating Virginia 18-14 in Charlottesville.

The Orange fell down 1-0 early, but then fired off four straight goals, leading to a 11-7 halftime lead. The SU defense held Virginia without a goal for more than 14 minutes at one point during the second half, giving the Orange the cushion they needed to get the 18-14 win.

Kayla Treanor led the way for SU, scoring five goals and tallying two assist. Junior Kailah Kempney had a career-high five assists as well.

SU takes its 4-0 record to Boston College on Wednesday, with faceoff at Chestnut Hill set for 2 p.m.
