The Cortland State men's lacrosse team continued their dominance in the NCAA tournament Wednesday night, defeating Western New England University 12-7.
After receiving a bye in the first round, Cortland defeated Aurora 14-8. On Wednesday, the Red Dragons outscored the Golden Bears 7-2 in the second half of the NCAA Quarterfinals to advance to the National Semifinals.
Ten different players scored for Cortland, including one spectacular behind-the-back bounce shot from ES-M grad Mike Cummings in the fourth quarter.
"We have a lot of experienced guys who've played in semifinal games...a national championship game..and that experience paid off today," Cortland State head coach Steve Beville says.
Cortland improves to 19-0 on the season and will face RIT (who the Red Dragons beat 12-11 in double overtime in March) in the national semifinals on Sunday in Cortland.
