SUNY Oswego scores 3 in the 3rd, beats Bowdoin to advance to NCAA Quarterfinals

Oswego defeats Bowdoin in thrilling fashion on Thursday

The Oswego State hockey team (21-6-2) beat Bowdoin (17-9-2) 4-3 on Thursday to advance to the NCAA Division 3 Tournament Quarterfinals.

The Lakers trailed 3-1 midway through the third period, but captain David Titanic woke the home crowd and the team back up with a goal to make it 3-2.

Less than a minute later, Fulton's Mike Montagna scored to tie the game at 3 with less than nine minutes to play.

After some back and forth play it was Titanic once again, this time setting up Alex Botten, who scored the go-ahead goal with 2:30 to play, his second of the game. SUNY Oswego ran out the clock, winning in thrilling fashion 4-3.

The Lakers advance to the Division 3 Quarterfinals, and will travel to face Babson College on Sunday.
