The Syracuse Crunch dropped Saturday night's home contest to the rival Utica Comets, 4-2.

The Syracuse Crunch hosted the Utica Comets on Saturday night, in a game that was monumental in terms of the AHL North Division standings.

With a win, the Crunch would create separation with the rival Comets.

However, with a loss, the Comets would surpass the Crunch in the league standings.

Going into Saturday night's game, the Crunch held a 1-point lead in the division standings.

Syracuse held a 2-0 lead late in the second period, until Utica scored two goals within 16 seconds of each other to tie it at 2-2 entering the second intermission.

In the third period, the Comets carried that momentum, using a Philip Holm goal to take the lead.

Utica would add an empty-netter late to make it 4-2, dropping the Crunch on home ice.
