Syracuse Crunch finalize their 2017-2018 schedule
It is now official and all we have to do now is wait until October for the first puck drop. The Syracuse Crunch have released their 2017-2018 schedule which includes a total of 76 games and 38 home games in the old barn. Some of the notable games for this season is obviously the first game of the season which is on Saturday, October 7 at 7 p.m. which includes the hanging of the 2017 Eastern Conference Champions banner before the puck drop and the annual Battle of the Thruway game between the Crunch and the Utica Comets on Saturday, October 14 with puck drop at 7 p.m.
During the season, the Crunch will face 14 different teams throughout the North and Atlantic Divisions. Rightfully the Utica Comets will have the most games against the Crunch to try and defend the Battle of the Thruway title. In addition to the Comets, the Crunch will have their typical opponents such as the Binghamton Devils; formally the Senators, the Rochester Amerks, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, the Hershey Bears and many others. However, some new faces will make their appearance in the War Memorial this year like the Belleville Senators, the Laval Rockets, and the Charlotte Checkers.
Syracuse's 38 home games are made up of one Sunday and one Monday, three Wednesdays, 14 Fridays and 19 Saturdays. All home games will start at 7 p.m., except for Monday, Jan. 15 at 1 p.m. and Sunday, April 8 at 5 p.m.
