Syracuse Crunch finish off chippy affair with rival Rochester Amerks, earn lopsided win

The Syracuse Crunch found themselves back inside the win column.

In front of a near sellout from the War Memorial on Saturday night, the Crunch powered ahead early and never looked back, defeating I-90 rival Rochester, 5-2.

The Amerks cut into the deficit in the second period, 3-2, but ultimately could not score again.

Syracuse improves to 24-15 overall, remaining slightly ahead of the Albany Devils for the top spot in the North Division standings.

The Crunch will visit Utica on Sunday for a 5 p.m. start.
