Syracuse Crunch finish off chippy affair with rival Rochester Amerks, earn lopsided win

Fights were plentiful between the Crunch and Amerks on Saturday night from inside the War Memorial.

The Syracuse Crunch found themselves back inside the win column.

In front of a near sellout from the War Memorial on Saturday night, the Crunch powered ahead early and never looked back, defeating I-90 rival Rochester, 5-2.

The Amerks cut into the deficit in the second period, 3-2, but ultimately could not score again.

Syracuse improves to 24-15 overall, remaining slightly ahead of the Albany Devils for the top spot in the North Division standings.

The Crunch will visit Utica on Sunday for a 5 p.m. start.
