Syracuse Crunch learns its playoff fate- Will start semifinals on the road
Thu, 09 May 2013 03:02:58 GMT —
The Hershey Bears bid for an upset of top-seeded Providence fell short, and now the Syracuse Crunch will start its semifinal series on the road.
As a result of Wednesday night's games, the Crunch as the three seed now meets the two-seed Springfield in the semi's.
Game One will be in Springfield on Friday night, and Game Two will follow Saturday.
The Crunch won't be home until next Wednesday for Game 3 at the War Memorial. The nice thing about this format is that the Crunch gets three home games in a row, if necessary. Games 4 and 5 would be Friday and Saturday at the War Memorial.
Syracuse split its season series with Springfield--losing on February 1st but winning February 23rd.
The Falcons' parent club is the Columbus Blue Jackets who called Syracuse home for nearly a decade, although one of the only familiar name to Crunch fans is Nick Holden.
Tickets are $19 for the playoff games and are already on sale.
We'll catch up with the Crunch on Thursday, so stay tuned for that.
