Syracuse Crunch to host Rochester Amerks in 2017 home opener

The Syracuse Crunch will begin their defense of the AHL Eastern Conference Championship when it hosts the Rochester Amerks on October 7.

After coming off of one of the most incredible seasons that Syracuse has ever seen with the Crunch, fans will be happy to know that the Crunch has officially announced that their home opener opponent on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 7 p.m. will be the Rochester Amerks. In addition to the home opener, Syracuse will raise the 2017 Eastern Conference Champions banner into the rafters before the puck drop of their 24th season in the American Hockey League.

The Syracuse Crunch's most impressive season with stars like Mike McKenna, Cory Conacher, Yanni Gourde, Slater Koekkoek, and Jake Dotchin, will surely take Syracuse out of the acclaimed "hockey graveyard" and put them back on the hockey map with an additional four guaranteed home games in the 2017-2018 season.

Additional opponents and start times for the rest of the games will be announced when the AHL releases the full regular season schedule at a later date. Single game tickets will go on sale in September.
