Syracuse Orange pulls off another clutch win over Cincinnati

The Syracuse Orange basketball team answered the question "what would they do for an encore", with another hard fought 57-55 win over Cincinnati on Monday afternoon, just two days after knocking off # 1 Louisville in similar fashion.

Key plays from the Orange down the stretch allowed the Orange to earn the victory, including C.J. Fair's game winning tipped basket off Jeremi Grants miss, shortly after Micheal Carter-Williams has tied the game at 55 with a clutch three-pointer.

â??We missed a lot of open shots before and overall it was one of those games when it wasn't going to be up and down," reflected senior guard Brandon Triche, "We tried our best to get into transition, but they took their time and we took our time. We didn't get a lot of points inside, so we struggled because of that."

â??I feel like it was a win mentally," said the freshman Grant, who scored 5 points and pulled down 7 rebounds, "as a team we came together at the end of both games and we had confidence in ourselves and our teammates and that helped us pull out the victory.â??

Carter-Williams led the Orange with 16 points, while Fair and Brandon Triche both scored 13 for SU.

Sean Kilpatrick led the Bearcats with 21 points and 6 three pointers.

The win gave Syracuse their 35th straight win at the Carrier Dome, the longest home winning streak in the nation.
