The Scranton RailRiders held a 3-1 lead on Thursdayâ??s game with an RBI double that Brent Lillibridge hit into deep center field before the game was rained out. When the game resumed on Friday night, things were a whole different story for the two teams. The Syracuse Chiefs would go on to win it 5-4 against the Scranton RailRiders.
Starting things off at the bottom of the 5th, Chiefs Brian Jeroloman singled to right field for an RBI, making it 2-3. Then at the bottom of the 6th, Chiefs Zach Walters hit a double into right field for a 2-run RBI. Taking their first lead of the night, the Chiefs would extend that lead to 5-3 as Josh Johnson singled a ground ball into left field, which allowed Zach Walters to round home.
The Chiefs still up by two runs at the top of the 7th would hold off the Railriders as Casey Stevenson only managed to hit a sacrifice fly into center field to score Randy Ruiz and cut the gap down to 5-4.
In the end, Josh Johnsonâ??s RBI proved crucial for the Chiefs to take the first victory of Fridayâ??s night doubleheader.
In game 2, The Chiefs couldn't get anything going in a 6-0 loss to the RailRiders.
