Former Syracuse University point guard Tyler Ennis was taken 18th by the Phoenix Suns in the 2014 NBA Draft in Brooklyn, New York.
Ennis, who spent one season with the Orange, declared early for the NBA after his freshman year. He was in the "NBA Draft Green Room" in Brooklyn, and stood up on stage with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver with big smile on his face after he was drafted.
Prior to the draft Ennis was all over the map when it came to his projected landing spot and pick. In his rookie season with the Orange, Ennis averaged 12.9 points, 5.5 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game, starting every game in the process.
Ennis becomes the third straight guard from Syracuse University to be taken early in the first round. Dion Waiters was taken 4th in 2012, while Michael Carter-Williams was taken 11th in 2013.
