Video: Scott Shafer shows passion on Day 3 of preseason camp, hoping to improve effort

Scott Shafer addresses the media after SU's third day of preseason practice.

SU football coach Scott Shafer is one of the most passionate coaches in all of college football, and he showed that on Monday evening.

Disappointed with his team's effort, Shafer was frustrated with his team's effort on day three of preseason camp, so much that he hit the podium during his post-practice press conference.

"We had some good things going on," Shafer said. "But, the level and standard of expectations have to be higher every day and I felt like yesterday we had a really good day, and today we had a day that wasn't as good as we needed to be. I like the way the kids ended up finishing it, but all in all not as good as we needed to be."
