The Syracuse Chiefs snapped their losing streak tonight against the Louisville Bats, 3-2.
Chiefs Zach Walters hit a solo home-run in the bottom of the 7th to give the team a fighting chance, cutting down Louisvilleâ??s lead to 2-1.
Then, Syracuse's Chris Marrero followed up with a ground-ball single to left field in the bottom of the 8th to break out of his slump and score Danny Espinosa for the tying run.
In the bottom of the 9th, the Louisville Bats found themselves in trouble with Chiefs Zach Walters hitting a line-drive double and eventually advancing to third base on a sacrifice bunt hit by Chiefs Kelly Shoppach.
The Chiefs' Chris Rahl was then walked. With runners on first and third, Eury Perez hit a single to left field to drive in Zach Walters for the game-winning run.
Perez was then smothered with shaving cream afterwards by his teammates as the Syracuse Chiefs celebrate a much-needed victory.
The Chiefsâ?? next game is tomorrow against Louisville at 11 am in NBT stadium.
