Before playing a concert at the Landmark Theatre on Sunday night, former Yankee star Bernie Williams played the National Anthem at NBT Bank Stadium before the Chiefs game Sunday afternoon.
Williams also signed autographs before and after playing the anthem, but he also took some time to speak with CNY Central's Niko Tamurian.
In the interview, Williams discussed seeing all of the Yankee fans thanking him for his clutch hits with the Yankees. He also spoke about his transition from the baseball field to the stage, saying while he enjoys playing concerts, he still missed the diamond.
"I still miss the game though, I still wanna play...that will never stop," Williams said. "I will always miss the game of baseball. But, now that I'm doing the music thing I get a chance to reinvent myself, I'm doing something completely different and I'm having a great time with it, it's keeping me challenged, it's just a great thing."
