With Brian Leetch visiting, Crunch drops game to Springfield

Brian Leetch signs autographs in the War Memorial on Saturday night

The Syracuse Crunch started the night with the legendary Brian Leetch dropping the puck in front of a rocking crowd in the War Memorial. However, the Crunchâ??s night would end on a sour note with the Springfield Falcons picking up a 6-5 win in overtime.

The Crunch would fall behind early in the game, being down 4-1 in the middle of the second period. However, the Crunch would storm back in the last period and a half to tie the game at 5-5 and force overtime. However, Dalton Prout would end the Crunchâ??s quest to complete their comeback by scoring the game winner for the Falcons with 1:08 left in overtime. Mike Angelidis, Evan Rankin, Dana Tyrell, Joey Mormina and Philippe Paradis all had goals for the Crunch.

Off the ice, Leetch took time to sign autographs for several fans. He also praised the players and fans of the National and American Hockey Leagues along with giving his best hopes for the United States hockey team competing in the Olympics.
