In the ever-changing world of high school football, where contenders change and student-athletes come and go there seems to be one constant in Central New York.

Carl Sanfilippo.

The longtime Baldwinsville Coach has been on the sidelines more than 40 years and still always calls the build-up to a new season "the best time of the year".

This year, Coach Sanfilippo is especially excited about his Bees.

And why not?

Baldwinsville fought its way to the Section III semifinals in 2016 and is poised to take another step forward.

The Bees are known for their brand of smashmouth football, but in recent years shown they can twirl the rock as well.

Enter Gabe Horan.

Baldwinsville has a bonafide threat at tight end in Gabe Horan, who is committed to play the same position at Syracuse University next year.

Despite that ace in the hole, there's another reason Sanfilippo is ready to roll this season.

"We've had a great offseason. I really, personally have a lot of respect for this senior class. We have a great bunch of kids, just passionate and hard working but intense when they have to be. But I like the chemistry, and that's my number one thing that I look for in any team and I like our chemistry" Sanfilippo said.

Here's a look at the Bees 2017 slate:

Thursday, August 31 vs. Corning (Carrier Dome, 8pm)

Friday, September 8 vs. Elmira

Saturday, September 16 at Utica-Proctor

Friday, September 22 vs. Liverpool
