After all six boys and girls lacrosse teams advanced to the State Semifinals, all three boys teams advanced to the State Finals on Wednesday, playing at St. John Fisher College in Rochester.
In Class A, West Genesee jumped out to an early lead over Penfield, using the early advantage to coast to an 11-6 victory. Ryan St. Croix scored six goals in the victory. The Wildcats will play the winner of Ward Melville and Shenendehowa in the State Final at 4 p.m. on Saturday, that game also played at St. John Fisher College.
In Class B, J-D dominated, much like they have during their entire 2013 playoff run, all game long, defeating Hamburg 18-5. The Red Rams play Garden City in the Class B State Final at 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. John Fisher.
In Class C, Cazenovia also jumped out to an early lead, taking a 6-3 advantage into the half. Penn Yan played a feisty second half, and had the last possession down 8-7, but Cory Grace's centering pass hit the back of the net, ending their final try, and giving the Lakers the 8-7 victory. The Lakers play Bronxville on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. for the Class C State Title, also at St. John Fisher.
