Baldwinsville, Westhill earn New York State Championships in girls soccer
Central New York now has two more New York State Champions to call its own.
Following Sunday's action from Cortland high school, both Baldwinsville and Westhill earned state championships.
The Bees took down Massapequa in the late game, 2-0.
Baldwinsville's win was the first state championship since 2002, and the first as a member of Class AA.
In the earlier game, Westhill and Aquinas Institute of Rochester played to a 2-2 draw at the end of regulation.
From there, the two teams played through two overtimes, along with two additional 5-minute periods.
However, neither team scored, and by NYSPHSAA rules, the two teams were named co-state champions.
