The Corcoran Cougars traveled to Baldwinsville tonight to face the Bees in a game that came down to the final minute. Baldwinsville was able to hold off a late Corcoran run in front of a capacity crowd and bested the Cougars 52-46.
Devyn McLeod finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Kyle George added 12 points, eight rebounds for Baldwinsville. Lashondre Jamison and Marquis Gilbert each had 11 points for Corcoran.
Baldwinsville got off to a slow start scoring just three points in the first quarter and allowing the Cougars to jump out to a 10-0 lead to start the contest. They trailed 26-20 at half but were able to settle down and make plays in the second.
â??I think we were too rattled coming out but in the second, third in fourth we were able to settle down and get things going,â?? said Ben DiOrio. â??Everyone said we wouldnâ??t make it past the first round. Weâ??re making it and we are going to keep going.â??
Baldwinsville will now go on the road to face No. 2 seed Utica Proctor on Tuesday.
